How to Clean Your Brushology Hairbrush

1. Use your fingers, a comb, or a brush cleaner tool to gently lift out any hair caught in the bristles.

2. Fill a bowl with lukewarm water and add a few drops of mild shampoo or gentle soap.

3.Dip a soft toothbrush or cleaning brush into the soapy water and scrub the bristles and base. Avoid soaking the entire brush for too long, especially if it has any cushioning or vented areas.

4. Wipe the bristles with a clean, damp cloth or rinse under lukewarm water (just avoid getting the whole brush overly wet).

5. Shake off excess water and lay the brush bristle-side down on a towel to air dry completely before using it again.

💡 Tip: Clean your brush every 1–2 weeks to prevent product buildup, oil, and dust from transferring back into your hair.

Why is there a metal pin missing in my metal pin hairbrush?

Great question — and don’t worry, your brush isn’t faulty!

Our Metal Pin Hairbrush is intentionally designed with one pin missing. This small but purposeful feature allows:

1. Water to drain from the cushion when brushing wet hair

2. Air to flow through the cushion, which improves flexibility and ventilation

3. Enhanced comfort and performance
during everyday use

So that “missing” pin is actually doing an important job behind the scenes!

We hope you love using your new Brushology brush — it’s built with care and thoughtful design.

What’s the difference between boar bristle, metal pin, and detangling brushes?

At Brushology, each brush is designed with a specific purpose and hair type in mind:

Premium Boar Bristle Hairbrush:

  • Best for: Fine to normal hair, dry or frizz-prone strands.
  • What it does: Gently distributes your scalp’s natural oils from root to tip, boosting shine and reducing frizz. It’s also great for stimulating the scalp and keeping hair healthy between washes.
  • Feel: Firm and stimulating — designed to polish the surface of the hair and massage the scalp. It may feel intense for those with sensitive scalps, but it’s highly effective for smoothing and oil distribution.

Metal Pin Hairbrush:

  • Best for: Medium to thick, textured, or longer hair.
  • What it does: Smooths and detangles while delivering a light scalp massage thanks to its rounded-tip metal pins. Also excellent for brushing out curls or waves without causing frizz.
  • Feel: Cooling and stimulating – great for dry brushing or scalp circulation.

Pro Detangling/Paddle Hairbrush:

  • Best for: All hair types, especially knot-prone or wet hair.
  • What it does: Effortlessly detangles wet or dry hair with flexible, ball-tipped bristles that glide through knots without pulling or breakage.
  • Feel: Cushiony and flexible – gentle even on tender scalps.

💡 Tip: You can use more than one brush depending on your routine — for example, detangle with the Pro Detangler, then polish with the Boar Bristle Brush!
